Happiness costs approx £30 per day
According to research carried out by Abbey Bank, happiness works out at less than £30 a day.

That is the sum needed by all average British adults to pursue all leisure interests including holidays, eating out, cinema, clothing, gadgets and hobbies.

How much do you spend?

Funny. But you know, that's smart on the part of the bank to do this study. I wouldn't be surprised if this will tie into marketing efforts for loans and such. Like any business, the bank is just trying to reach people on an emotional level. And as far as emotions go, people like 'happiness'.

Money problems got you down? Are you not happy enough in your life? Well, this study shows that you will be happier with more money. You need a loan from us!

I agree that you can't put a price on happiness and I can see through these kinds of silly marketing messages. But I would imagine that this study will hit an emotional chord with a lot of people. Interesting.

Having my interest in words and philosophy, I'd want a definition of happiness. But I've seen this before, and agree, it's a fantastic advertising campaign! It works on so many sophisticated levels, that I've kept it in mind.
